چکیده

This paper examines how city systems evolve through time in response to policy initiatives for network formation. The analysis is conducted through the use of path dependent development experiments. By assuming that a government applies cost-benefit evaluation rules to improve efficiency of the railway network link-bylink, the paper illustrates that city systems will evolve such that population will cluster in some dominant locations, and that these locations depend both on the geographical conditions and historical order of network improvement.

Improving Long Run Marginal Cost based Pricing along with Extended Benefit Factor method for Revenue Reconciliation of Transmission Network in Restructured Power System

Abstract : There are several methods to cover the costs of a transmission system and distribution networks. These methods are divided into either incremental or marginal approaches, which can be either long-term or short-term. The main difference between the incremental and marginal approach is how to calculate the cost of using the network. In the incremental approach, simulation and in the ma...

Determination of optimum of production rate of network failure prone manufacturing systems with perishable items using discrete event simulation and Taguchi design of experiment

This paper, considers Network Failure Manufacturing System (NFPMS) and production control policy of unreliable multi-machines, multi-products with perishable items. The production control policy is based on the Hedging Point Policy (HPP). The important point in the simulation of this system is assumed that the customers who receive perishable item are placed in priority queue of the customers w...

Design of Oil Refineries Hydrogen Network Using Process Integration Principles

This paper describes the application of process integration principles to the design of oil refineries hydrogen network. In this regard, a design hierarchy as well as heuristics and required guidelines are proposed. The recommended rules compensate lack of procedure to the design and make the design process easier. The guiding principles of the design are based upon pinch technology and ext...

A Continuous Opinion Dynamic Model in Co-evolving Networks-A Novel Group Decision Approach

Opinion polarization is a ubiquitous phenomenon in opinion dynamics. In contrast to the traditional consensus oriented group decision making (GDM) framework, this paper proposes a framework with the co-evolution of both opinions and relationship networks to improve the potential consensus level of a group and help the group reach a stable state. Taking the bound of confidence and the degree of ...

Simulate the Evolution of Scholarly Network via Agent-based Modeling

Agent-based modeling is a new modeling paradigm constituted by multiple autonomous agents and lots of basic rules to guide their behaviors and achieve their goals. In this paper, we propose a novel and flexible simulation approach using agent-based modeling for future scholarly network prediction. This model includes three components. 1) Agent: we represent author and publication as heterogeneo...
